01 about
I grew up Mennonite in rural America, surrounded by simplicity, discipline and the quiet rhythm of making things by hand. Some of my earliest memories are in my great grandfather’s woodworking shop, learning how raw material becomes something that holds meaning. Later came construction and the craft of building spaces from the ground up.
Over time I learned that beauty often lives outside the rules we are given. Leaving the bounds of Mennonite expectations allowed me to follow my own path, to embrace the questions, to trust imagination, and to honor the parts of myself that were always reaching for more.
My work is shaped by that journey. It carries the honesty of where I came from, the freedom of where I am going, and a belief that creativity can open doors for all of us. I hope my practice reflects both who I am and the world we are trying to build, one that values dignity, courage and the right to speak in your own voice.
